COVID-19 Related Information & Protocol

(Updated January 3, 2022)

Highland Boys Youth Travel Basketball (Recreation Association of Highland) does not set any guidelines or requirements for COVID-19 protocol.  All protocol is determined by the Medina County Health Department (MCHD) and the Highland Local School District (HLSD).

HLSD Close Contact definition:  Close Contact is within 3 ft. for 15 consecutive minutes.

Protocol:

In the event that a player tests positive for COVID-19 or a Close Contact has occurred outside of team activities:

  1.  Parent / guardian must notify the head coach.
  2. Coaches must determine if any Close Contact (as defined above) occurred during any team activity and report Close Contact status to the parents/guardians of all those who were in Close Contact.
  3. Ohio Department of Health flow chart is applied:

Additional Information:

  • Ensure that players and coaches are washing hands prior to and following all team activities.
  • Masks are not required when actively engaged, only when players are idle.
  • Coaches must wear masks.
  • Spectators must wear masks while in a HLSD facility.
  • Follow all league rules and guidelines for players and spectators.
  • Medina County Health Department:  https://medinahealth.org/community/current-outbreaks/

Again, the basketball program is not making any decisions or setting any protocol but will follow MCHD & HLSD direction in all cases.

Thanks,

Highland Youth Boys Travel Basketball
